How to activate Windows 10 or 11 by phone (Confirmation ID)

Phone-activation keys are confirmed with a one-time Confirmation ID (CID). Here is the whole process.

1. Enter your product key

Open Command Prompt as administrator (Start → type cmd → *Run as administrator*) and run:

• slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX (your key)

Windows confirms the key was installed.

2. Get your Installation ID

Run slmgr /dti. A window shows a long number — your Installation ID. Copy it exactly.

3. Get the Confirmation ID

Two ways:

• Microsoft: run slui 4, choose your country and follow the phone instructions, if offered in your region.
• Velakey: reply to your delivery email (or write to support) with your order number and the Installation ID. We send back the Confirmation ID, usually within minutes.

4. Apply the Confirmation ID

Run slmgr /atp CONFIRMATIONID (no spaces or dashes), then slmgr /ato.

5. Check

Open Settings → System → Activation — it should say *Windows is activated*. You can also run slmgr /xpr.

Tip: the Installation ID changes if you install a different key or change hardware, so always send the latest one.
