How to install Office and activate it with a product key

Before you start

• Uninstall other Office versions (Settings → Apps). Mixed versions are the #1 cause of activation errors.
• Use the official installer link from your delivery email — it matches your edition exactly.

Account-linked keys (Home & Business / Home & Student "Bind")

1. Go to setup.office.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.
2. Enter the key — the license is now saved to your account.
3. Install from your account page. Reinstall any time from the same page.

Professional Plus and LTSC keys

1. Install Office with the provided installer.
2. Open Word → File → Account → Change product key and enter your key.
3. Online keys activate immediately.

Phone activation for Office

Open Command Prompt as administrator and go to the Office folder:

• cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16"
• cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
• cscript ospp.vbs /dinstid — copy the Installation ID and send it to us (or use Microsoft's phone service)
• cscript ospp.vbs /actcid:CONFIRMATIONID then cscript ospp.vbs /act

Check the result with cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus — look for *LICENSED*.
